Wind Mills of Gods
Sidney Sheldon loves to place his heroines in Europe. In Windmills of God Mary Ashley is happily living in Kansas with her doctor husband. She is contacted by the newly elected President and asked to be Ambassador to communist Romania. She at first declines then her husband dies in a car crash.
Once she arrives in Romania things go quickly south. Men are instructed to kill Mary. She is fighting for her life in country behind the USSR's Iron Curtain. The story involves international politics and espionage.
This story may have the most realistic plot but it entertains nonetheless. It's a first rate thriller that will keep you involved.
